Diamond Shapes

The most interesting fact a bit diamond is that they come in so many different shapes. When choosing a diamond the first thing to think about is what shape you would like. All diamond shapes except round are considered to be fancy shapes. The reason behind this is because the round diamond is the traditional and classical diamond shapes. All diamond shapes have different and unique qualities, all reflect light differently, suit different types of hands and of course are all priced differently. If you do not know which diamond shape you are after you should think about what the diamond is going to be used for. For example if it is going to be used in a ring you should consider the fingers it will be worn upon. If the wearer has long and narrow fingers, she can elegantly wear a pear shape, marquise, or oval shape diamond. However if she has short and wide fingers these diamonds will cover too much of the finger and look too big. Small hands look better in round or princess shaped diamonds.
